3 Ways to Achieve A Voluminous Wash & Go For Natural Hair
Big hair me PLEASE!
We’ve recently received various feedback from our educational spaces and social media that more naturals are desiring bigger hair.
So in true Black Girl Curls fashion, we’ve got your back! This blog post will outline 3 quick tips for how to make your voluminous hair dreams come true.
1. Add A Foam To Your Styling Cocktail
Adding a foam to your styling cocktail as the second layer helps expand the hair that gives you the volume that you desire. When foam is layered over your base gel, it allows the hair to escape the curl clump adding to the nice, soft hold needed for volume.
In the salon, we specifically love adding the AG Cloud Air Light Volumizing Mousse to wash and go’s for clients wanted added volume on day 1.
If you’re curious on how we specifically use this product in wash and go’s, there is a detailed video tutorial in our digital course community—The SeeSomeCurls Visual Library.
2. Utilize A Diffuser Over A Hood Dryer
For a more voluminous wash and go, skip out on your hood dryer and opt for your diffuser. Diffusers are fairly inexpensive and can be purchased as a separate attachment for your handheld dryer if you don’t currently own one.
A diffuser helps to add more lift to your wash and go set. Diffusers also allow us to concentrate on one area of our head, while allowing us to get the expansion that a hood dryer doesn’t allow.
3. Pick Your Roots
Yes, it’s totally fine to pick your roots. Using a pick to gently lift your roots is a really simple way to add volume.
We’re loving Pattern Beauty’s hair pick has it includes long durable prongs and a wide handle that makes it ergonomically friendly.
